التعريف

الدماغ في وعاء تجربة فكرية عن دماغ بلا جسد يُغذّى بمُدخلات حسية محاكاة. وهي تختبر هل نستطيع أن نعرف أننا لسنا في هذا الوضع. وقد حاجّ هيلاري بوتنام بأن السيناريو يدحض نفسه، بسبب ما تستطيع كلماتنا الإحالة إليه.

الدور في النموذج

إعداد «الدماغ في وعاء» هو أصغر محاكاة تستطيع ساحة التجربة بناءها: دماغ حقيقي في الواقع الأساسي، والعالم يُغذّى إليه مُدخلًا حسيًّا. ويفكر الدماغ بنفسه، فلا يحتاج إلى الحوسبة إلا العالم، ويتسع لبضعة رفوف من المعالجات الرسومية.
