# الخطوة الزمنية

التعريف

الخطوة الزمنية هي شريحة الزمن المحاكى بين تحديث للمحاكاة والذي يليه. والفيزياء الأسرع تحتاج إلى خطوات زمنية أصغر: فمتوثانيات للذرات، وأتوثانيات للإلكترونات.

لهذا تحتاج درجة الذرة إلى 10^15 تحديثًا في الثانية لكل ذرة.

الدور في النموذج

التفصيل يتراكم مرتين: في عدد الأشياء التي تتتبعها، وفي كم مرة تحدّثها. فالذرات تحتاج إلى موضع جديد كل فمتوثانية، فيجري عالم بمستوى الذرة بكوادريليون تحديث في الثانية. ولهذا تتطلب قيعان المادة الأدق حوسبة أكثر بكثير مما يوحي به عدد الأشياء وحده.
