সংজ্ঞা

সমন্বিত তথ্য তত্ত্ব হলো জুলিও টোনোনির প্রস্তাব যে চেতনা মেলে একটি ব্যবস্থা যে সমন্বিত তথ্য (Φ) উৎপাদন করে তার সঙ্গে, তার অংশগুলো একা যা করে তার ওপরে।

IIT চেতনাকে রাখে একটি ব্যবস্থার ভৌত কারণ-ও-ফল কাঠামোয়, সে যে গণনা চালায় তাতে নয়। তাই IIT অনুযায়ী সাধারণ ডিজিটাল হার্ডওয়্যারে সিমুলেট করা একটি মস্তিষ্কের প্রায় কিছুই থাকত না, সে যা-ই সিমুলেট করুক। এটি সবচেয়ে পরিচিত তত্ত্ব, যাতে মডেলের কাজ-চালানো ভিত্তি ব্যর্থ হয়। স্যান্ডবক্স ভিত্তিটি ধরে নেয় আর সে কথা বলে।
