# Substratunabhängigkeit

Definition

Substratunabhängigkeit ist die Idee, dass ein Bewusstsein nur davon abhängt, wie ein System organisiert ist und was es tut, nicht davon, woraus es besteht. Kohlenstoff, Silizium oder reine Berechnung würden alle funktionieren.

Auf dieser Seite

Jedes Bewusstsein in der Sandbox ist von Haus aus substratunabhängig. Ob das überhaupt Sinn ergibt, ist eine Frage für das schwere Problem.

Rolle im Modell

Der Regler Geistmodell ergibt nur Sinn, wenn ein Bewusstsein auf etwas anderem als einem Gehirn laufen kann. Wenn Substratunabhängigkeit falsch ist, ist die Rechenleistung, die ein Bewusstsein braucht, nicht nur groß. Sie ist undefiniert, und jeder simulierte Mensch in jedem Szenario ist nicht wirklich jemand. Die Sandbox nimmt an, dass sie wahr ist, und sagt das.
