Schnellere Physik braucht kleinere Zeitschritte: Femtosekunden für Atome, Attosekunden für Elektronen. Auf dieser Seite Deshalb braucht die Stufe Atom 10^15 Aktualisierungen pro Sekunde für jedes Atom. Rolle im Modell Detail summiert sich doppelt: in der Zahl der Dinge, die du verfolgst, und in der Häufigkeit, mit der du sie aktualisierst. Atome brauchen jede Femtosekunde eine neue Position, also läuft eine Welt auf Atomebene mit einer Billiarde Aktualisierungen pro Sekunde. Deshalb brauchen feinere Materieebenen weit mehr Rechenleistung, als die Zahl der Dinge allein vermuten ließe.
