# علیت

تعریف

علیت پیوند میان علت‌ها و معلول‌هایشان است. در فیزیک، قاعده‌ای است که معلول هرگز در هیچ چارچوب مرجعی پیش از علتش نمی‌آید.

نقش در مدل

دستگیرهٔ مدل زمان ساختار علت و معلولی را تعیین می‌کند: یک خط زمان، یک حلقه، یک درخت هرس‌شده، یا هر شاخه هم‌زمان. هرکدام مقدار متفاوتی محاسبات می‌طلبد. هرکدام پاسخ متفاوتی می‌دهد به اینکه آیا دیروز باید همان‌طور که بود رخ می‌داد.
