# What would it take to simulate a world?

How much processing power would a world like ours need, and when could our computers run it? This site works it out from published physics and neuroscience. Every number says how far you can trust it, every date comes as a range, and none of it tells you whether we’re in a simulation. It’s an estimate, not a verdict.
