Định nghĩa

Ý thức là trải nghiệm chủ quan: việc làm một hệ thống nhất định là có một cảm giác riêng nào đó. Rất khó định nghĩa và rất khó giải thích theo thuật ngữ vật lý.

Vai trò trong mô hình

Hộp cát có một núm chỉnh cho số thứ có bên trong và một núm chỉnh khác cho mỗi thứ có bao nhiêu bên trong.
