# Bước thời gian

Định nghĩa

Bước thời gian là lát thời gian mô phỏng giữa một lần cập nhật của mô phỏng và lần kế tiếp. Vật lý nhanh hơn cần bước thời gian nhỏ hơn: femtô giây cho nguyên tử, atô giây cho electron.

Vai trò trong mô hình

Chi tiết cộng dồn hai lần: ở số thứ bạn theo dõi, và ở tần suất bạn cập nhật chúng. Nguyên tử cần một vị trí mới sau mỗi femtô giây, nên một thế giới mức nguyên tử chạy ở một triệu tỷ lần cập nhật mỗi giây. Đó là lý do các nền vật chất mịn hơn tốn nhiều sức mạnh tính toán hơn nhiều so với con số các thứ đơn thuần gợi ý.
