定义

底层现实，是假定存在的、运行模拟的非模拟现实，如果模拟假说为真的话。我们假定它存在，但无法证明它存在，而且模拟的链条可能永远不会终止。

在模型中的作用

沙盒里的每个世界，都由上一层的世界运行。如果那个世界也是被模拟的，它的算力就比上面的那个世界少。“无穷后退”窗口把这一点变成一个深度：在最里面的世界不比笔记本电脑更大之前，一个给定的构建能运行多少层嵌套的世界。
