定义

因果性是原因与结果之间的联系。在物理学里，它是指在任何参考系中，结果都不会先于原因出现。

在模型中的作用

“时间模型”旋钮设定因果结构：一条时间线、一个循环、一棵修剪过的树，或者所有分支同时存在。每一种需要的算力不同。每一种对昨天是否必须以那种方式发生，给出的回答也不同。
