定义

意识是主观体验：作为某个特定系统，有某种感觉。它极难定义，也极难用物理的语言来解释。

内心生活分界线和心智模型一起，决定哪些实体被认为有体验，以及有多少。

在模型中的作用

沙盒有一个旋钮，管有多少东西有内部；另一个旋钮，管每样东西的内部有多少。两者都基于一个工作前提，在这里为整个网站说明一次：计算功能主义。这种观点认为，运行正确的计算就足以构成一个心智。在这个前提下，模型测量的是运行一个心智所需的算力。它测量的不是体验本身，而在这一点要紧的地方，卡片上都带有“纯属猜测”的标签。
