# 基底无关性

定义

基底无关性，是这样一种想法：心智只取决于一个系统如何组织、做了什么，而不取决于它由什么构成。碳、硅或纯粹的计算，都行得通。

在本站

沙盒里的每个心智，按设计都是基底无关的。这是否说得通，是困难问题要回答的事。

在模型中的作用

只有当心智能运行在大脑之外的东西上时，心智模型旋钮才说得通。如果基底无关性是假的，一个心智所需的算力就不只是很大。它是未定义的，每个情景中每一个被模拟的人，都并不真的是一个“谁”。沙盒假定它为真，并且明说了。
